10-13th September

The annual Heritage Open Days weekend gives visitors and residents the opportunity to see buildings which are not normally open to the public, or a chance to visit for free buildings which would normally charge an admission fee.

Included in this year's programme is a glimpse into the archives of Hexham Abbey - artifacts, manuscripts and rare books, free entry to Hexham Old Gaol, a free archive film screening at the Forum Cinema, a tour of the old station at Allendale and Core Music's Ucorelele project where every instrument tells a story.
