A celebration of the life and music of the late Sir Jimmy Shand, prolific composer and renowned bandleader, an international star and legend of Scottish Music whose tunes continue to feature in the repertoire of most traditional accordionists and Dance Bands.

On stage, the music is provided by the Brandon McPhee Band.

Senior Scottish Accordion Champion Brandon is winner of the the highly coveted "Jimmy Shand Shield", not to mention the numerous titles he was awarded while still in his teens and recognised across Britain and Ireland through his music and many appearances on stage, radio and television.

In this the Jimmy Shand Story, he looks back at the life and music of his idol, playing many of his favourite tunes, complemented by visual images and stories narrated live by legendary Scottish Folksinger and Broadcaster Jimmie MacGregor MBE (half of singing duo Robin Hall & Jimmie MacGregor, extensive appearances on BBC Television, Presenter on The White Heather Club, Toured with Sir Jimmy Shand.)

Brandon also seizes the opportunity to demonstrate the continuing relevance and versatility of the famous Hohner Shand Marino button accordion as only he can, also with a song or two.

Combine the music of the Old Master with the brilliance of the young maestro and you have the recipe for something very special.
