Pneûma

Pneûma an engaging dance and music event, Pneûma, in the grounds of Hexham Abbey on 2nd and 3rd June. Pneûma means breath, wind and spirit.

2nd to 3rd June 2021 7.30pm and 9.30pm

Miranda Tuffnell, dance artist and producer of Pneûma, says: “In many creation myths, worlds arise in the movement of wind over water, breath stirring the darkness. Our piece explores these dreamscapes of breath, breath lost and regained. All our lives have been touched by the events of this past year, a year of social isolation and losses. Yet as the days lengthen and Spring brings hope, we are emerging and finding new ways forward. Our performance with live music and dance will enchant and bring a magic to these historic outdoor spaces."

Be sure to wrap up warm and bring a rug, cushion or folding seat. Each evening, the first performance is at 7.30pm and the second at 9.30pm to coincide with the sunset.

These performances are 35 mins long - admission is free but donations are welcome. Please note, social distancing will apply.
